Hossein Khazali, Norway’s representative in the recitation of category of the 30th International Holy Quran Competition made the remark in an interview with IQNA, adding the Iran has a lofty status in the Muslim world in terms of Quranic activities.
He said this is the second time he attends an international Quran competition after taking part in the International Holy Quran Contest for Muslim Students.
Khazali hoped that the international Quranic event, which is underway in Tehran until Friday, will be a successful and outstanding one.
He said the Tehran contest is being held at a high level compared to other international Quran competitions.
“The contestants, who have been selected from among the Quranic elites in their own countries, have also put forward good performance in the competition.”
The Norwegian Quran raciter also described the members of the jury panel as some of top Quran experts in their countries.
Asked about the contest’s judgment regulations, he said the regulations have been compiled with utmost precision and that the scoring procedures are very advanced, professional and carefully determined.
He said more attention should be paid to the news coverage about the competition, especially in Arab countries, in order for these countries to have more active participation in the competition.
Khazali also referred to his Quran recitation activity and said he has improved his recitation skills significantly by travelling to Iran and Iraq and learning from Quran masters in these two countries.
The 30th International Holy Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran kicked off in Tehran on May 31 with the participation of Quran reciters and memorizers from over 70 countries.
