After the demise of Imam Khomeini (RA), the enemies thought that the end of the revolution was imminent but Imam Khamenei led the revolution with full insight.
Speaking to IQNA, Abdullah Jacques Chartier, head of the French Society of Shia Muslim Converts, added that Imam Khamenei has led the Islamic Revolution and Iran to a lofty status that Imam Khomeini wanted for the country.
He underlined that the Islamic Revolution, which was led to victory by Imam Khomeini (RA), was one of the greatest and most important events in the contemporary era.
“It happened at a time when the world was moving toward unipolar system and total dominance of colonial power.”
He said Western countries had installed their puppets as presidents, prime ministers or kings in the Middle Eastern countries in order to exploit the region’s rich resources. “Before the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Iran was one of these countries. The Shah was an American puppet and did not do anything unless told by Washington.”
Chartier referred to the role of the clergy in the awakening of the Iranian people, saying that at a time when the West was quite optimistic about its future in the Middle East, an Iranian clergyman foiled all the conspiracies and ploys of the West.
He said the Great Imam Khomeini (RA), backed by the Iranian clerics and Muslim people, rose up against the regime of the Shah and achieved victory over the regime through Islamic and revolutionary spirit.
The French Muslim scholar said many revolutions have taken place in history but have been derailed because their leaders have strayed. “This did not happen in the Islamic Revolution of Iran. Imam Khomeini (RA) continued his simple life after the victory of the revolution and it was his simple life that made him popular around the world.”
He said when the leader of a revolution does not seek material gains and just cares about his people, the revolution will gain more spirituality day after day and moves toward a point where no colonial power would be able to confront it.
Chartier underlined that after the demise of Imam Khomeini (RA), the enemies thought the end of the revolution was imminent but Imam Khamenei led the revolution with full insight.
He said Imam Khamenei assumed the leadership of the Islamic Revolution in difficult times but did not retreat from the principles of the revolution and refused concession to the world arrogance.
Chartier further stressed the importance of maintaining the Islamic revolution and said the revolution proved that running a society based on religious and Quranic principles is not only possible but necessary.
