Muslim World Thirsty for Quranic Teachings

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei said the Muslim world is thirsty for the teachings of the Holy Quran.
Imam Khamenei made the statement on Saturday, June 8, in a meeting with the organizers and participants in the Islamic Republic of Iran’s 30th International Holy Quran Competition.
His Eminence said that unlike the past when some prominent figures in the Muslim world chanted socialist and communist slogans to make known their quest for freedom, today whoever wants to shout slogans of justice, independence, freedom and dignity in the Muslim world chants Quranic slogans.
The Supreme Leader regarded organizing Quranic sessions and competitions as a means for getting closer to the truth of the Quran and said learning the concepts and teachings of the Quran paves the way for achieving health, security and dignity.
Elsewhere in his statements, Imam Khamenei underlined the need for strengthen Muslim unity, saying that any tongue that invited Muslims to unity is a Divine one and any tongue that provokes enmity and hostility among Islamic schools of thought is an evil one.
His Eminence referred to bloodshed and blind terrorism (in the Muslim world) and creating an opportunity for the Zionist regime as the consequences of disunity and discord and said Muslim unity and solidarity is an immediate necessity.
The Supreme Leader also pointed to the rising trend of Islamophobia, saying that the enemies of Islam are doing their utmost to harm the Islamic world and therefore Muslims must strengthen their power and capabilities, especially through enhancing unity.
Prior to Imam Khamenei’s statements, Head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Mohammadi presented a report on the 30th International Holy Quran Competition.
He said the contest was held with the participation of Quran reciters and memorizers from over 70 countries with the aim of spreading the teachings of the Holy Quran.
