New School for Quran Memorizers to Open in Chechnya

First deputy of Chechnya’s President announced that construction project of a new school for Quran memorizers has concluded in the republic.
According to IQNA’s branch in Europe, Isaa Hajiev said that the project had begun in the city of Urus-Martan, southwest of the capital, Grozny, in August.
The school will open in the coming days in a ceremony with the participation of political and religious figures of the Caucasus and Russia as well as some Common-wealth countries.
The Chechens are a largely Muslim population who have lived for centuries in the mountainous North Caucasus. Over time, many Chechen people have adopted the practice of Islam, especially since 1990.
