He made the remark on Sunday, June 9, in a meeting with head of Iran-Kuwait Parliamentary Friendship Group Abdul-Muhsin Al-Malifi, adding that these powers resort to supporting radical and extremist groups and creating fear among Muslim countries to achieve their objective.
Larijani said fomenting discord among Islamic countries is a plot hatched by the enemies of the Muslim Ummah.
He underlined the necessity of stronger unity and solidarity in the Muslim Ummah and continued dialogue among Islamic states about regional and international issues.
Referring to the ongoing crisis in Syria, the Majlis speaker regarded political dialogue among Syrian factions and groups as the only solution for the crisis, stressing that diplomacy cannot be moved forward through weapons.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Larijani hailed the historical and cultural relations between Iran and Kuwait, saying that the Majlis welcomes further expansions of parliamentary, political, economic and cultural ties between the two countries.
Al-Malifi, for his part, pointed to the problems facing the region, saying that the Muslim Ummah needs to prevail the current problems in the way of Islamic countries’ progress through dialogue and judiciousness.
Al-Malifi headed a Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation visiting Iran at the formal invitation of the Iran-Kuwait Parliamentary Friendship Group.
