Cultural and social deputy of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization stressed the high quality of Iran’s International Quran Competition.
Speaking to IQNA, Hojat-ol-Islam Ahmad Sharafkhani said participation of over 75 countries in Iran’s competition shows that it is the best Quranic contest compared to similar events in the world.
He said the number of contestants in other international Quran competitions that have a longer history is less than that of Iran’s contest.
The quality of how the Islamic Republic of Iran’s competition is held is also higher than others as acknowledged by the jury members and contestants, he noted.
Hojat-ol-Islam Sharafkhani further said that unlike other Quranic contests that have one stage, Iran’s competition is held in three stages.
He said this year’s competition was held concurrent with the demise anniversary of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini (RA), which provided an opportunity for the contenders to see for themselves how Iranian are devoted to Imam Khomeini (RA) years after his demise.
The Islamic Republic of Iran’s 30th International Holy Quran Competition was held from May 31 to June 7 in Tehran.
