Supreme Council of Quran Established in Afghanistan

A supreme council of Quran has been founded in Afghanistan with permission from the country’s Justice Ministry.
It was opened earlier this week in the capital Kabul with a speech by head of the council Hojat-ol-Islam Abbas Hassanzadeh.
He elaborated on the objectives of the council and said it is aimed at coordinating Quranic education activities and promoting unity among the Quranic community.
He also pointed to the anniversary of Imam Khomeini’s (RA) demise anniversary and hoped the establishment of the council will be a great stride on the path toward implementation of Quranic and religious teachings in society.
