11th Quran Memorization Course kicks off in Al-Damam

The 11th intensive course on memorization of the Holy Quran began in Shia-majority city of Al-Damam, Saudi Arabia.
Some 120 boys from different parts of Al-Sharqiya province are attending the course, Baab news website reported.
The province’s Quran Memorization Association, which is a charity institute, is holding the course at Al-Hamra grand mosque.
Addressing the opening ceremony, the mosque’s preacher Sheikh Fahd Abdul-Rahman Al-Marir underlined the need for commitment to the Word of God and acting upon Quranic teachings.
According to Sheikh Abdul-Latif Al-Mulhim, an organizer of the course, it is held everyday from 4 to 7:30 in the morning and from 4 to 6:30 in the afternoon.
He said the course will run for four weeks and that the participants learn by heart 2, 3, 5, 10, or 15 Juzes (parts) of the Holy Quran.
He added that specialized committees have been set up to run and supervise implementation of the Quranic course.
