More Votes Will Empower Nation’s Elected President against Enemies
Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei said more and stronger votes will give more power to the nation’s elected president against the enemies.
His Eminence made the statement in a meeting with thousands of people from all walks of life on Wednesday, June 12, on the occasion of Imam Hussein’s (AS) birth anniversary.
Imam Khamenei referred to abiding by the law as the praiseworthy discourse of the Iranian nation in the June 14 elections. He commended the nations’ enthusiasm for participating in the election and said high turnout in the polls is more important for the country than anything else.
Iranians will go to the polls on Friday to choose their next president as well as members of village and city councils.
The Supreme Leader underlined that by participating in Friday elections, the nation will once again prove their firm relation with the Islamic Establishment and disappoint the enemy.
His Eminence regarded the nation’s enthusiasm for the election as the indication of a political epic, saying that the political epic has started today and, God willing, will reach its peak and get fully realized on Friday.
Imam Khamenei noted that the enemies of Islam,Islamic Revolution and Iran have used all their financial, media and political means to separate people from the establishment and spread doubts about the election and its organizers, but the nation will prove their strong bond with the Islamic Establishment on Friday and disappoint the enemies once again.
His Eminence described the June 14 election as an important and great experience for the Iranian nation and said strong and hopeful participation in the polls and strengthening the mutual trust between the people and officials will dishearten the enemy and reduce the pressures.
The Supreme Leader referred to the presence of all political and thought currents in the presidential debates and the introduction of various views in these debates as some of the strengths of this year’s election.
His Eminence also said that Iran today is very different from 34 years ago when the Islamic Revolution achieved victory, adding that the country has made outstanding accomplishments in the fields of science, politics, security, etc.
The Supreme Leader underlined that the path to dignity and greatness for the Iranian nation is through putting trust in God.
Elsewhere in his speech, Imam Khamenei said Imam Hussein (AS), who sacrificed his life and the life of his dear family and companions for the sake of Islam is a role model for everyone.
