Future of Country Depending on People’s Participation in Election

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei urged Iranian people to go to the polls enthusiastically.
Casting his ballots in the 11th presidential and 4th city and rural council elections on Friday, Imam Khamenei added that Iranian people should know the future of the country and the nation’s prosperity depends on their turnout and their election.
His Eminence said the influential presence of people in determining the country’s destiny is the reason behind the enemies’ negative propaganda, adding that the enemies have made a lot of attempts to spread pessimism and hopelessness to dissuade people from voting.
The Supreme Leader pointed to the American officials’ remarks about not approving of Iran’s elections, and said the enemies’ views have never mattered to the Iranian nation.
Imam Khamenei urged people to go to the polling stations at earliest opportunity hoped that the elections’ outcome will bring about material and spiritual prosperity for the Iranian nation.
His Eminence also noted that no one, even his close relatives, knows who he has voted for.
Polls officially opened in Iran at 8 A.M. on Friday for presidential, and city and rural council elections with nearly 50.5 million people eligible to vote.
