Quran Memorization Competition for Converts in Qatar

A Quran memorization competition is planned to be held for the new Muslim converts in Qatar.
The contest will be organized during the holy month of Ramadan by Sheikh Jassem Committee, Al-Arab newspaper reported.
Registration will begin this week and continue for two weeks, the committee has announced.
Head of the committee Nasser Yusuf Al-Siliti said the competition aims to encourage those who have embraced Islam to learn the Quran by heart.
He said cash prizes as well as Umrah pilgrimage packages are among the awards given to winners of the contest.
Participants will compete in the two categories of memorization of the last Juze (part) of the Quran and memorization of the last 14 Surahs of the Quran.
