Egypt to Send Qaris to Different Countries in Ramadan
Egypt’s Awqaf Minister has approved the plan for sending Quran reciters to different countries during the holy month of Ramadan.
Talat Afifi said the ministry will send 6 Quran reciters to countries like Canada, Australia and Malaysia, Al-Dastour daily reported.
He said the Egyptian Qaris will go to these countries due to the need of Islamic centers to Quran masters in the holy month.
Sheikh Salam Abdul-Qavi, a spokesman for the ministry later said 23 other Quran reciters are planned to be sent to Denmark, Spain, Lebanon, Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Mali, Britain and China.
He said they will hold Quran recitation sessions for Muslim minorities in these countries and the Awqaf Ministry will provide for their expenses.
There are also plans by the ministry for dispatching 24 Egyptian preachers to Spain, Chad and Germany. They will organize religious seminars and give lectures in these countries.
