This is according to Egyptian Quran reciter Sheikh Badr Abdul-Alim Badr, who talked to IQNA about Master Al-Hilbawi’s life and works.
He extended condolences to the Muslim world and Quran activists over the demise of Master Al-Hilbawi and said the late master was a leading figure in the fields of Quran recitation, Ibtihal and Tawasheeh.
Sheikh Badr noted that Master Al-Hlibawi’s unique style in Quran recitation and Ibtihal will remain great for years to come.
The Quran reciter and preacher in Egypt’s Awqaf Ministry said Master Al-Hilbawi with his unique style managed to create his own school of Ibtihal in the Muslim world.
He also pointed to the character of the late master and said he was very respectful of his teachers and masters and advised his students to be like that, too.
Sheikh Badr further said Al-Hilbawi was very much interested in travelling to Iran and attending Quranic sessions in the country as he believed Iranians are very good listeners to Ibtihal performances.
Master Al-Hilbawi, who had been suffering from diabetes for a long time passed away at the age of 67 on Saturday, June 15.
