The custodian of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine in Najaf, Iraq, plans to establish a specialized Quran printing house in the city.
The plan was discussed in a meeting between Iraq’s ministry of reconstruction and members of the Astan’s (custodianship) administrative council on Monday.
Ali Khazir Haji member of the council said construction of the printing house is part of a comprehensive plan to build a media city that will also include multi-purpose halls, studios, hotels, etc.
He added that it will be the largest media city in the Middle East upon completion in a 5-year period.
A great academic complex comprising 20 colleges specializing in humanities, a specialized library and a astronomy center will be among other parts of the planned city, he went on to say.
