Ulyanovsk Lawmakers Ban a Headscarf

The Mufti of the Ulyanovsk region in Russia Muhammad Hazrat Baibikov appealed to the governor of the region Sergey Morozov to change the decision of regional lawmakers, who are going to ban a headscarf in educational institutions.
According to the fourth paragraph of the draft law, the wearing of headscarf is prohibited at school. Mufti emphasizes this point, said that it is unacceptable for Muslim women who observe the rules of the religion.
"Wearing the headscarf is the mandatory requirement for women according to Sharia law,"- said the Mufti, Islam73.ru reports
The Muftiyat of the region refer to the Russian Constitution, which guarantees religious freedom.
"Islam is the official religion of the region throughout the ten centuries. Except the atheistic system no one had ever forbidden Muslims to observe the requirements of Islam. Especially in the field of clothing and hats, which are symbols not only of religion, but also the culture of many nations, " said Muftis.
