Late Egyptian Quran Master Commemorated

A ceremony was held on Monday, June 17, in Cairo to commemorate the late Egyptian Quran master and reciter Sheikh Muhammad Al-Hilbawi.
Quranic and cultural figures and ambassadors of Muslim countries in Cairo attended the ceremony at Al-Hamidiya Al-Shadhliya Mosque, Al-Yawm Al-Sabi daily reported.
Also present at the event were thousands of those who loved Sheikh Al-Hilbawi’s Quran recitation and Ibtihal.
Several prominent Egyptian Quran reciters who had attended the ceremony recited verses from the Holy Quran.
Al-Hilbawim who had been suffering from diabetes, passed away on June 15 at the age of 67. He was buried on Sunday, June 16, in his home village of Mit-Kanana.
