The Iranian nation proved its power and potentials by massively participating in the (June 14) elections.
Head of Ammar Headquarters Hojat-ol-Islam Mehdi Taeb made the remark in an interview with IQNA, adding that the post-election calm and security was the result of the positive response by the nation, officials and candidates to the Supreme Leader’s demands.
He added that the massive turnout in the presidential election was a demonstration of religious democracy in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The cleric stressed that people’s presence on the scene foiled all the enemy attempts to separate the people from the Islamic Establishment.
“The enemies of the Islamic Revolution had been hatching plots against this year’s election and talked about issues like ‘free elections’ in their media to exert pressure on the Islamic Republic.”
He underlined that the Iranians’ 72-percent participation in the polls showed the enemies that separating the nation from the Islamic Establishment is not possible and that despite all enemy ploys, the people of Iran themselves determine the fate of their country.
Hojat-ol-Islam Taeb went on to say that the people’s presence on the election scene even forced the foreign media to acknowledge that the Islamic Establishment is a popular one.
Iranians went to the polls in the nation’s 11th presidential election on June 14. The fourth city and rural council elections was also held on the same day.
