Need for Setting the Ground for Return of the Savior and Realization of Peace
According to Mahdism belief, the ground should be prepared for the reappearance of the Savior and realization of peace as a global necessity.
Ilias George Saliba, Lebanese Christian priest who was attending the 9th international conference on Mahdism Doctrine, made the remark in an interview with IQNA, stressing the belief in Mahdism and the concept of awaiting the Savior are very important issues in the world.
“[These issues] remind us of peace, friendship, and compassion and moving away from war, hatred and sectarianism,” he said.
The Christian priest stressed the importance of the international conference which is annually held on the theme of Mahdism, saying that the issue of awaiting the Savior should be paid more attention because the world today is in need of peace and friendship more than ever.
“We have come from Lebanon to this conference on Mahdism in order to underscore that we seek a peace that will be realized with the reappearance of the Savior.”
He also said that the foundation of the Christian faith is on the hope for the coming of the Savior.
“We the faithful, the Jews, Christians, and Muslims, all believe in the coming of the Savior in our own way.”
Ilias George Saliba went on to say that there are minor differences between the followers of different faith when it comes to the issue of Mahdism, but the main thing is that all of them, believe that the Savior will come and establish peace and friendship in the world.
The 9th International Conference on Mahdism Doctrine was held at the IRIB International Conference Center in Tehran with the participation of scholars and thinkers from Iran and a number of other countries.
