Memorial Service Planned for Slain Egyptian Shia Figure
A ceremony will be held on Tuesday, July 2, in Tehran to commemorate the Egyptian Shia figure who was martyred last week.
Sheikh Hassan Shehata and 4 other Shia Muslims were last Sunday by extremist Salafi mobs.
According to the public relations office of the Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, the memorial service will be jointly held by the forum and the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly at Arg Mosque.
It will be attended by a number of officials, religious scholars, representatives of sources of emulation, ambassadors of Muslim countries and different groups of people.
The office regretted that after the gruesome killings of Shia Muslims in countries like Pakistan, Bahrain, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, this time a massacre took place in Egypt and a number of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) followers were killed by extremist Takfiri groups.
It went on to say that the impure and evil hands of Zionism and the criminal US were behind these killings.
Many political and religious figures and organizations, including Egypt’s Al-Azhar Islamic Center have denounced the massacre.
