Iraqi Source of Emulation Urges Saudis to Act Responsibly on Shi’ites’ Rights
An Iraqi source of emulation called on Saudi Arabia’s authorities to act responsibly about the rights of Al-Sharqia region’s Shia Muslims.
Issuing a statement, grand Ayatollah Bashir Najafi said Saudi officials should fulfill their responsibilities to safeguard the life, properties and honor of Shia Muslims in the region.
He regretted that while Saudi Arabia claims to be a protector of the religion and a haven for the faithful, events take place in this country that show the situation to be otherwise.
Ayatollah Najafi referred to the recent death of 3 young Shi’ites in Al-Sharqia region and underlined these young people had committed no crimes.
He said what is happening in the region indicates desecration of the sanctity of human life by government officials.
The grand source of emulation also extended condolences over the martyrdom of the three young Saudi Shi’ites to their families.
