The concluding celebration was attended by Sheikh Zayed bin Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Dr. Hamad Al Shaibani, Director general of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD); Dr. Omar Al Khateeb, Executive Director of Islamic Affairs Sector; and Abdullah Al Kamali, Head of the project.
The contest included 11 categories and the tests were conducted last April.
The new building of the project, which costs Dh20 million will be built next year in Al Warqa. There will be equipped classes for boy and girl students. And according to the head of the project the new building will be a major leap in the project’s work.
Al Kamali stated that there will changes and additions in the contest’s categories next year.
In this year contest, in the first category, which is memorizing the Holy Quran, 3 boy students and 2 girl students won.
In the second category, which is memorizing 25 parts of the Holy Quran, 5 boy students and 2 girl students won. In the third category, which is memorizing 20 parts, 11 boy students and 4 girl students won. In the fourth category, which is memorizing 15 parts, 12 boy students and 6 girl students won.
In the fifth category, which is memorizing 10 parts, 18 boy students and 20 girl students won. In the sixth category, which is memorizing 5 parts, 30 boy students and 24 girl students won. In the seventh category, which is memorizing 3 parts, 10 boy students and 9 girl students won.
In the eighth category, which is memorizing the last part of the Holy Quran, 6 boy students and 22 girl students won. In the ninth category, which is memorizing half the last part of the Holy Quran and it was for people with special needs, 4 boy students and 11 girl students won.
In the tenth category, which was for Holy Quran teachers, 3 male teachers and 3 female teachers won. And finally, in the eleventh category, which was for memorizing religious texts, 9 male contestants and 9 female contestants won.
