Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Masoud Mirian, an expert with the Quranic Affairs Center of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization made the remark in an interview with IQNA, adding that Quran reciters who have the best performance in the related contest will be sent to Hajj.
According to the official, the competition is scheduled to be held from Wednesday, July 3 to Friday, July 5.
He said 120 top reciters, including winners of the first three titles in provincial Quran competitions, compete in two sections, Tahghigh and Tartil recitation.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mirian noted that 25 to 30 top Qaris will be selected from among the contestants and sent to Hajj.
He went on to say that the reciters sent to Hajj will be Iran’s Quranic ambassadors and will recite the Quran in Hajj batches and in various programs in the Land of Revelation.
