Head of the exhibition Hojat-ol-Islam Hsshamid Mohammadi made the remark in a press conference on Tuesday, July 2, adding that in the opening ceremony, a number of veteran Quran activists will be honored.
President-elect Hassan Rohani who won the June 14 presidential election will replace Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on August 3.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi further said the International Quran Exhibition that used to be only a place for showcasing Quranic works has now turned into an institution that observes Quranic activities throughout the year.
“It is the resultant of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s overall Quranic activities,” he stated.
He said the third decade of the Quran exhibition is one of culture building in which the years-long efforts (of previous editions) will bear fruits.
Pointing to the differences between this edition of the expo and the previous ones, the cleric noted that in this edition the arrangement of the pavilions has changed and some of the sections that were related in terms of content have been merged.
He said during the month-long exhibition, visitors who have worn-out copies of the Quran can exchange them with new printed ones for free.
According to the official 300,000 copies of the Holy Quran will be distributed among visitors as well as mosques and religious centers that have worn-out copies.
At the end of the press conference, which was also attended by Culture Minister Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini, the poster of the exhibition was unveiled.
The 21st International Holy Quran Exhibition will kick off in Tehran’s Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla on Friday, July 5, and will continue for a month.
