Sectarian, Takfiri Fitnas, Two Sides of Same American-Israeli Plot
Deputy secretary of Hezbollah said the Fitna (seidtion) of sectarianism and the Takfiri Fitna are the two sides of an American-Israeli plot.
Addressing the International Conference on “Islam and the Fitna of Takfir”, Sheikh Naeim Qassem described Takfir as an absurd and baseless thing.
The conference is underway in the Lebanese capital of Beirut, with the participation of Muslim scholars from Arab, Muslim and Western countries.
Sheikh Naeim Qassem said the spread of Takfir in Islamic lands is unacceptable as it creates many problems and tragedies in Muslim countries.
Instead of fighting the enemies of the Muslim Ummah, Takfiris kill Muslims, thus paving the way for domination of the enemies, he said.
The Hezbollah official added that Takfiris and those deceived by them carry on the will of the world arrogance.
Also speaking at the event was Sheikh Muhammad Tofiq Ramadhan Al-Bouti, head of the Muslim Scholars Union in the Levant, who criticized Takfiri Fatwas that call for killing Muslims, stressing that such Fatwas have no basis in Islamic teachings and run counter to the principles of the religion.
Another speaker, grand Mufti of Syria Sheikh Ahmed Hassoun, said Takfiris aim to put out the light of the Levant, which has been the cradle of Jihad in Lebanon, Palestine and elsewhere.
Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s senior adviser, also took the podium, saying that the Takfiri ideology poses a danger of the Muslim Ummah and that Takfiris must reconsider their beliefs.
