News ID: 2555875
A rally is planned to be held in Paris on Saturday, July 6, in protest to the killing of Muslims in Myanmar.
The group “Stop Genocide in Myanmar” (HAMEB) is organizing the rally, Saphirnews website reported.
It has called on people of France to take part in the rally on the eve of Myanmar President Thein Sein’s planned trip to France.
The group says the demonstration aims at denouncing the silence of the media and international community over the killing and torturing of Muslim minority in Myanmar.
It has collected some 1200 signatures for a petition calling on the French government to take measures to put an end to the stark violation of human rights in Myanmar.
The Saturday rally in Paris will start from Barbes– Rochechouart district at 4:30 P.M. and demonstrators will march to Chatelet in the center of the city.
Another rally had been staged in Paris in April calling for an end to the oppression of Rohingiya Muslims in Myanmar.
