21st Int’l Quran Exhibition Launched in Tehran
The 21st edition of Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition was inaugurated in a ceremony on Friday evening, July 5.
The ceremony, held at Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall) was officiated by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. It was attended by the country’s Quranic, cultural, and political officials.
Addressing the event, Culture Ministry’s Quran and Etrat Deputy Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Mohammadi underlined that the Quran exhibition has huge potentials.
He pointed to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei’s emphasis on the key issue of Quranic lifestyle as the best way for creating a Quranic civilization, saying that “Quranic Lifestyle” has been chosen as the motto of this year’s exhibition.
He underlined that if people’s life becomes a Quranic one, the Islamic and Quranic utopia will be achievable, adding that the Quran exhibition is a manifestation of this effort.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi presented a report on the Quranic activities of the 9th and 10th (current) administration saying that in the 9th administration the ground was set for creating Quranic structures and in the current one, the Quranic efforts bore fruits.
“It could be sad that the greatest Quranic development since the victory of the Islamic Revolution took place in this period and the officials’ attitude toward Quranic activities changed,” he said.
He noted that 7 new Quranic structures were created in government bodies like the Ministry of Health, Science Ministry, Education Ministry, Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, and the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.
The official also pointed out that the country’s Quranic budget increased significantly in the current administration compared to the previous ones.
“Also, the number of Quranic institutes in the country has grown from 180 to over 2000 today,” he said, adding that the Culture ministry provides all of these institutes with financial aid.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi urged the next administration, which will be inaugurated on August 3, to ensure the continuation of the country’s Quranic progress through paying attention to the issues of culture-building and system-building in the Quranic field.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the cleric the Quran exhibition is very well-received every year and that it has the potential to be held in an area 10 times greater than the current one.
