Mashmoul Welcomed Home
In an official ceremony, Iran’s representative at Malaysia’s International Quran Competition, was welcomed back home.
A number of Quranic officials, including Valiollah Yarahmadi, head of the Awqaf Organization’s Quranic Affairs Center, Seyyed Ali Sarabi, deputy head of the Supreme Quran Council, and Mater Ahmad Abolghassemi were present at the ceremony held at Imam Khomeini (RA) Airport.
Mohammad Mashmoul, who won the second rank in the international Quranic event, arrived at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini (RA) International Airport on Sunday night.
Malaysia’s 55th International Quran Recitation Competition was held from June 29 to July 6 in the country’s capital city of Kuala Lumpur.
54 Quran reciters from 42 countries took part in the international event, including 16 women.
Representative of Indonesia took home the first prize of the contest and the third prize went to the reciter from the host country.
