1st Day of Ramadan Announced Public Holiday in Afghanistan

Afghanistan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced the first day of the holy month of Ramadan as a public holiday.
In Afghanistan, like in many other Muslim countries such as Iran, Malaysia and Indonesia, Ramadan begins on Wednesday, July 10.
The ministry also announced the official working hours for public sector departments during the holy month.
It said the working hours in the capital Kabul will be from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M. five days a week.
In other cities of the country there will be six workdays but the working hours start at 8 A.M. and finish at 1 P.M.
During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to dusk and strive to be more pious and charitable.
