Thousands Are Expected to Pray at Al- Aqsa on Friday

Tens of thousands headed to al-Aqsa mosque to perform the first Friday prayers during the holy month of Ramadan despite the Israeli security restrictions.
Israeli forces have tightened the security measures and set up dozens of checkpoints on the entrances of the occupied city of Jerusalem, preventing many of the worshipers from having access to the mosque.
Tens of thousands of worshipers from occupied Jerusalem and West Bank and 1948-occupied territories flocked to al-Aqsa mosque.
Meanwhile, Occupation Authorities have imposed tight restrictions on the entry of worshipers to Al-Aqsa Mosque during Friday prayers where the Israeli police declared that Palestinian men who are above 40 years women of any age will be allowed to pray at Al Aqsa mosque on Fridays throughout Ramadan without the need to obtain visit permits from Israeli authorities.
The Israeli police also declared that worshipers from the West Bank who are above 60 years are permitted to enter the occupied city of Jerusalem during Ramadan without the need to obtain visit permits from Israeli authorities.
The Supreme Islamic Council in Jerusalem called on Palestinians living inside the Green Line, Jerusalem and West Bank to flock to al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan.
It stressed the need to intensify the Palestinian presence in al-Aqsa mosque to protect it in light the Israeli escalated and continued schemes to divide the mosque and impose a fait accompli in the holy city of Jerusalem.
Thousands of Israeli police forces and border guards were deployed since the early morning hours in different areas of occupied East Jerusalem and in the vicinity of al-Aqsa Mosque and the surrounding villages.
