Speaking at an open session of the Majlis on July 13, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Mohammad Hassan Abutorabifard added that the US feels its expansionist policies have been threatened by the Muslim world and that is why it is trying to weaken Muslim countries.
He referred to the situation in Egypt and said what is happening in the north African country today is the result of the divisive policies of the United States.
“If they had not killed the Shia cleric (Sheikh Hassan Shehata) like that the other day, we would not have been faced with divisions and conflicts in the Muslim society (of Egypt) today.”
He said the United States is behind tensions and crises in Muslim world countries like Egypt, Syria, Bahrain, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Hojat-ol-Islam Abutorabifard urged the Muslim nation of Egypt to stand united against the United States’ plots and be vigilant against anti-Islamic conspiracies.
The vice-speaker of the Majlis further underlined that future belongs to the Muslim Ummah.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the cleric referred to the coming of the holy month of Ramadan and hoped that the country’s Muslim society will benefit from the virtues of the month to walk on the path of salvation.
