Second Stage of “Taj-ul-Quran” Nat'l Contest Held in Algeria

The second stage of “Taj-ul-Quran” Algeria's national Quran contest was held on July 20 with the presence of the country’s Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments.
According to algeriesoir website, this stage of the fifth edition of the special TV program was held with the participation of Bouabdallah Ghlamallah, the Algerian minister, and directors of “Quran” and “A3” TV channels as well as a number of eminent scholars of the country.
The program is being aired since Friday, July 19, at Sfax Palace of Algiers, the capital city.
Three candidates of both male and female groups of participants were eliminated from the competition broadcast live on the channels and three others in each group were selected to compete at the next stage.
Boys and girls from 48 provinces of the country attended the first stage of the contest from among whom 12 male and 12 female participants were qualified to compete at the second stage.
3 top participants of each group will be awarded at the end of the competition which will continue during the holy month of Ramadan.
The jury panel of this edition of the program comprised 6 Quran experts.
The TV program will include Tawasheeh performances by various groups from Islamic neighbor countries and Quran recitations by internationally known Qaris.
Algeria’s national Quranic event is organized every year and broadcast via the national TV channel of the country.
