Familiarizing 4 Million People with Surah Al-Hujurat, A Laudable Step
Culture Minister Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini said familiarizing 4 million people with Surah Al-Hujurat is a valuable step.
He made the remark in a ceremony held to mark the conclusion of the plan “Quran, Book of Life”.
Held on Friday night, August 2, at the 21st International Holy Quran Exhibition, the ceremony was also attended by director of the Quran Radio Mohammad Hossein Mohammadzadeh, culture ministry’s Quran and Etrat Deputy Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Mohammadi, and head of the Majlis’ Quran and Etrat Fraction Laleh Eftekhari.
Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini, lauded the plan, which featured promotion of the concepts of Surah Al-Hujurat and said this Surah of the Holy Quran rejects some ethical vices and stresses the need for fraternity and improving relations between people in society.
He stressed that the Surah also rejects any racial or ethnic superiority and introduces piety and Taqwa (God-fearing) as the criteria determining advantage.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the culture minister underlined the Quran’s miracle of transforming the characters and souls of people and said the Quran changed individuals like Salman, Abuzar, and Meghdad from what they used to be before the Be’that (call to prophethood) to what they became afterwards.
The minister further pointed to the activities of the Quran Radio, one of the contributors to the “Quran, Book of Life” plan and praised the activities of the radio’s officials and staff.
He went on to say that the Quran Radio has been at the service of the Holy Quran for 30 years.
