Quran Manuscripts Exhibition Launched in Istanbul

An exhibition of Quran manuscripts was opened in the Turkish city of Istanbul on Friday, August 2.
According to the safa.ps website, the exhibition was launched in a ceremony attended by Turkish officials including deputy prime minister and head of the Religious Affairs Department as well as a number of Palestinian officials and religious figures.
As well as manuscripts copies of the Holy Quran, a number of Quranic artworks have been put on display at the exhibition.
The oldest copy of the Quran showcased at the event is one dating back to 1000 years ago.
The organizers say the exhibition aims to inform visitors about the history of Quranic calligraphy.
The Quran manuscript exhibition has received wide media coverage in Turkey.
