Quran Memorization Contest Concludes in East Africa

A Quran memorization contest was held on August 2 in Mombasa, a predominately Muslim city of Kenya, East Africa.
According to IQNA’s branch in Africa, the competition is organized every year by “Al-Rahman” Muslim Youth Association.
86 Kenyans and 13 others from countries such as Uganda, Somalia and Ethiopia competed in this edition of the contest.
The winners were awarded in a ceremony with the participation of Hassan Ali Joho, governor of Mombasa and Abdul Samad Sharif, a member of Kenya’s Parliament.
The first rank winner of the contest will represent Kenya in African continent’s international Quran competition to be held in Tanzania.
