Winners of Algeria’s Int’l Quran Competition Awarded

Algeria’s 10th International Holy Quran Competition concluded in the capital Algiers on Sunday night, August 4.
Winners of the contest were announced and awarded at the closing ceremony held in the capital city’s grand mosque, elmoudjahid website reported.
Prime Minister Abdel Malek Salal and Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Arabi Walad Khalifa attended the function.
The competition’s jury panel announced representatives of Qatar, Algeria and Yemen as winners of the first to three ranks, respectively.
The Islamic Republic of Iran’s representative Peyman Ayazi won no titles in the competition, which was attended by 49 countries.
Winners of the national Quran competition for children and teenagers also received their awards at the Sunday night ceremony.
Algeria’s 10th International Holy Quran Competition was held on July 29- August 4 under the auspices of the country’s president.
Many Muslim countries organize national and international Quran contests during the holy month of Ramadan every year.
