Islamic Center in Brussels Awards Prizes for Quran Competition

Cash prizes and books were awarded to 32 winners of the Quran competition at the Islamic Cultural Center in Brussels Sunday night.
The Center had organized a competition for Quran recitation and another competition for cultural issues on the occasion of the fasting month of Ramadan. Nine participants won prizes for cultural issues.
The Director of the Center, Jamal Saleh Mominah, congratulated the winners and distributed the prizes. One special prize of an air ticket for Umrah (lesser pilgrimage) to Mecca was won by one of the participants who gave a correct answer to a question on the Holy Quran.
The Center also held special congregational night prayers (Tarawih) during Ramadan. An estimated 500,000 Muslims mainly from Morocco and Turkey live in Belgium.
