Quran Museum Receives 13 Quran Manuscripts

Director of the Quran Museum Hojat-ol-Islam Fakhroddin Saberi said 13 Quran manuscripts have been gifted to the museum in the current year.
Speaking to IQNA, he added that the manuscript copies have historical value and beautiful cover, calligraphy and page design.
He referred to the 21st International Holy Quran Exhibition, which concluded on Sunday, August 4, and said 30 Quran manuscripts registered in the natural heritage list were unveiled at the exhibition.
According to Hojat-ol-Islam Saberi, a total of 60 manuscript copies of the Quran will be unveiled by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2014).
He noted that the museum has a precious and rare collection of Quran manuscripts dating back to the 4th and 5th Hijri centuries (11th and 12th centuries A.D.).
He said thousands of people visit the Quran Museum in Tehran, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
Hojat-ol-Islam Saberi went on to say that the museum, which has been founded to hold rare Quranic works and manuscripts, needs to be developed.
