Quran Recitation Contest Held in Russia
Uunder the framework of the “Ramadan Tent” project which was launched by Russia Muftis Council, the qualifying round on the best Quran reader was held.
Dozens of people from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad towns expressed a desire to participate in the competition, Mir 24 TV channel reports.
"The competitor must know by heart the whole Quran. Moreover, he should read rightly and melodically in Arabic," - said the deputy chairman of the Council of Russian Muftis Rushan Hazrat Abbyasov.
After the qualifying rounds around the world, the best reciters of the Qur'an will participate in the international competition. It will be held in Moscow in mid-September. It is expected that representatives from more than 30 countries will take part in the competition.
