The Iranian Mi’ad Qom Tawasheeh group also performed Tawasheeh songs in the program, which was held on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the public relations office of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization reported.
The Al-Huda Da-rol-Quran Center in the city hosted the program that was also attended by Zakeri, Iranian Cultural Attaché in Senegal.
Director of the center Sheikh Muhammad Dewope welcome the Iranian cultural delegation and hoped the session would be step to strengthening Quranic cooperation between the city of Thies and the Iranian cultural center.
He thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for supporting Quranic activities in the city.
Then Zakeri in a speech hailed the Quranic center as a base for fostering the teachings of Holy Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
He referred to the Hadith of Thaqalayn by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) “Verily, I am leaving behind two precious things (Thaqalayn) among you: the Book of God and my kindred (the Ahl-ul-Bayt), for indeed, the two will never separate until they come back to me by the Pond (of AlKawthar on the Judgment Day),” and underlined the need for upholding the status of the Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
Zakeri later attended an interview with the city’s local radios and answered questions about the activities of Iranian Cultural Center.
