Using the cyberspace is a good and effective way for disseminating information about international Quran competitions.
Hassan Al-Khabbaz, deputy head of Bahrain’s Al-Zikr Al-Hakim Quranic Sciences Center made the remark in an interview with IQNA, adding that Quran activists should always be informed about Quranic events.
He said international Quran contests encourage Quran activists, including reciters and memorizers to strengthen their capabilities.
According to Mr. Al-Khabbaz, these international Quranic events also help to promote Islamic unity in the Muslim world by convening Quran activists from different countries.
He said the Holy Quran is the book of the truth and all Muslims no matter what school of thought they follow have faith in the Quran.
Al-Khabbaz said if such contest is jointly held, it will be a significant step in service of the Quran by promoting the Quranic culture and enhancing Muslim unity.
Asked about the role of media in covering international Quran contests, Al-Khabbaz, who was present at the Islamic Republic of Iran’s 30th International Quran Competition, said Quran contests that are held at the local or regional level usually do not receive much attention but international Quranic events like Iran’s International Quran Competition are covered very well by the media.
He said this media coverage helps to further promote the Holy Quran in the Islamic society and encourages people to get more acquainted with the Book of God.
He urged for organizing such Quran competitions in a joint endeavor with the cooperation of all Muslim countries.
The Bahraini Quranic figure further referred to the desecration of Islamic sanctities by the enemies of Islam and said in order to confront these sacrilegious moves, the glory of Islam and the greatness of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) should be clarified for the world.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Al-Khabbaz pointed to the activities of Bahrain’s Al-Zikr Al-Hakim Quranic Sciences Center, saying that it has several branches and organizes Quranic sessions, Quran competitions and Quranic courses.
