According to IQNA’s branch in Europe, the ceremony was organized and hosted by Imam Ali (AS) Islamic Center in Sweden.
It was also attended by head of the State Organization for Supporting Religious Institutions in Sweden and Muslim citizens who performed congregational Eid prayer.
Addressing the ceremony, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohsen Hakim Elahi, congratulated the worshippers on the auspicious occasion and called on them to ask for God’s forgiveness.
He referred to a Hadith by Prophet Jesus (AS) stressing the necessity of promoting moral virtues in the society and called on the participants to make the best use of Quranic teachings in their lives.
Also speaking at the ceremony, Stefan Attefall, the Swedish minister, congratulated all Muslims on the Eid and said that Ramadan has been largely covered in Sweden’s media during the recent years and that it shows the month has become an important event in this country.
The minister added that the Swedish society has become more acquainted with the month, a fact that requires Sweden’s government to support the country’s religious institutions.
