Imam Khamenei Thanks Basketball Team for Earning Championship
Following Iranian basketball team’s championship in the 2013 Asian basketball tournament, the Supreme leader of the Islamic Revolution in a message thanked the team.
Imam Khamenei in his message expressed gratitude to the players for earning the championship title at the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship.
The Supreme Leader’s message reads:
“In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful. I thank the national basketball team for the championship that brought joy to our dear people.”
President Hassan Rouhani also congratulated the team on the victory and thanked the players and technical staff.
Iran on Sunday, August 11, defeated the Philippines 85-71 to bag gold at the 27th FIBA Asian men’s basketball championship, grabbing its third Asian title after four years.
