Humanity Missing Spirituality

Director general of the Quran, Etrat and prayers Department of the Education Ministry said what humanity is missing today is spirituality.
In an address to the opening ceremony of the 31st Quran, Etrat and Prayers Competitions for school students, Mohammad Bonyadi added that based on the Western line of thought, humanity’s needs can be met by development whereas a look at the events in the world shows that humanity is now more than ever in need of spirituality.
He also pointed to the view of all Divine religions about the future of humanity and said the world community has reached the wisdom to realize that the world is in need of a savior.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Bonyadi highlighted the need for acting upon the teachings of the Holy Quran, following the Seerah of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and attention to prayers as steps that help humanity to move toward salvation.
Referring to the 31st Quran, Etrat and prayers Competitions for school students, he said 7 million students, out of 12 million Iranian students, took part in the preliminary stages of the contest.
The national competition opened in the city of Qazvin, west of Tehran, on Tuesday, August 13.
