Senegal to Host Int’l Conference of Francophone Muslims
An international conference of Francophone Muslims is slated to be held in Senegal on August 23-25.
150 guests from different African, European and American countries will take part in the conference in Dakar, APS website reported.
The Francophone Muslims Society is organizing the event with the theme of “Role of Islamic Thought in Ethics, Governance and Peace”.
It said in a statement that the conference aims to find an answer to a question that is on many people’s mind, that is, how Islam as a religion can play a role in governance and establishment of peace.
It added that scholars, thinkers and cultural and social activists attending the conference from Francophone countries will discuss issues facing the Muslim world in the contemporary era.
The previous editions of the international conference of Francophone Muslims were held in countries like Ivory Coast, Benin, Niger, Burkina Faso, Togo and Mali.
