2nd "al-Aqsa" Intl. Quran Contest Running

Second edition of “al-Aqsa” international Quran contest kicked off yesterday, August 18th, in Ramallah, Palestine.
According to Ma’a News Agency, the contest features a number of categories including recitation, memorization and Tajweed.
The event has been organized by Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in an attempt to strengthen the status of Quran activists in society.
Participants from Kuwait, Jordan, Tunisia, Mauritania, Turkey, Ukraine, Kenya, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Mali are in attendance to the function.
Institutionalizing religious values and raising a Quranic generation are among other objectives of “al-Aqsa” contest.
A Palestinian jury panel is judging the contest.
