“Spring in Spring” Nat’I Quran Contest Concludes in Shiraz

The 17th edition of national Quran and Nahj-ul-Balaqa contest titled "Bahar dar Bahar" (spring in spring) concluded on August 23 in Shiraz, southern Iran.
According to IQNA’s branch in Fars Province, this edition of the contest was organized for the National Iranian Gas Company's children.
Boys and girls in three different age groups including secondary school, high school and university students competed in memorization of 2, 3, 5, 10, 20, and 30 Juzes (parts) of the Holy Quran, Tahqeeq and Tarteel recitation of the verses and concepts of the Holy Quran and Nahjul Balaqa.
The participants competed in male group from August 14 to 18 and in female group from 19 to 23.
The closing ceremony of the contest in female group began with Quran recitation by Mostafa Javadi, deputy of Dar-ol-Quran of the company and continued with a speech presented by Sa’eed Tavakkoli, director of the 5th region of the company’s project.
He thanked the organizers of the contest and considered the Quranic competition as the best and the most spiritual event that the region has hosted so far.
He stressed that neglecting the teachings of the Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) is the origin of all problems in the society.
The director added that the Quran activists are messengers of the Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) who should convey the teachings through their deeds and behaviors.
A clip of the guidelines of the Supreme Leader stressing the importance of contemplating the Holy Quran was also screened at the ceremony.
Hojat-ol-Islam Omidi, cultural advisor to the managing director and head of cultural council of the company, also addressed the ceremony and stressed the importance of acting upon the Quranic teachings.
Hojjat-ol-Islam Mohammad Hassan Moradi, interim Friday prayers leader of the city was the other speaker at the ceremony who talked about the Quran’s verses clarifying women’s role.
