Mehdi Shayeq and Mohammad Mahdi Haqgouyan will represent Iran in the recitation and memorization categories of the contest, head of the organization’s Quranic Affairs Center said.
Vali Yarahamdi noted that Shayeq is a top Quran reciter who managed to win the first title in the Mudhammatan national Quran competition last year.
He added that Haqgouyan, who is a memorizer of the entire Quran, has come second in a national Quran competition.
The third edition of Tunisia’s International Holy Quran Competition began in the North African country this morning, August 24.
