1st Adhan Contest Planned in UAE
The first edition of an Adhan contest in the United Arab Emirates is planned to be held in the city of Al-Ain starting from August 28.
According to IQNA’s branch in Dubai, the UAE Endowments and Islamic Affairs Authority will organize the competition at the national level for the first time.
As many as 43 participants from various parts of the country will compete in the two stages of the contest.
The authority plans to hold the next editions of the contest every two months and top participants in the first edition will be awarded 600000 AED (United Arab Emirates Dirham).
Adhan is an announcement of the prayer times and it is used to call Muslims to the prayers. The person who gives the Adhan is called the Mu'adhin.
