Speaking in a meeting with the Sultan of Oman and his accompanying delegation on Monday, August 26, Imam Khamenei regretted that the Takfiri group has been formed with support from some regional countries.
His Eminence described the region’s conditions as sensitive and said the main reason behind the current situation is interferences from outside of the region.
Imam Khamenei referred to the involving of religious, sectarian and ethnic issues in political disputes as a dangerous trend.
His Eminence further underlined that the Zionist regime, which has a large arsenal of weapons of mass destruction, is a permanent threat in the region and receives all-out support from the US.
The Supreme Leader reiterated that the region needs general security, which is only achieved by truly banning WMDs in the region.
Imam Khamenei also referred to the good relations between Iran and Oman and describing Oman as a good neighbor for Iran stressed that there are many grounds for further expanding bilateral ties in different areas.
Sultan Qaboos, for his part, described the two countries’ relations as very good and said he has discussed with Iran’s p[resident the opportunities for developing bilateral relations.
He confirmed the Supreme Leader’s statements about the region’s sensitive situation and the threat of the Zionist regime and urged for cooperation among all regional countries for an exit from the current situation.
