Ramadan Gadirov, Chechnya’s president, said that there are about 28 million Muslims residing in Russia whose rights should be respected.
He stressed that the Russian government should help Muslims to build mosques.
According to IQNA’s branch in Europe, the Chechen president said that the construction project of churches for Christians is underway in three regions of the Republic of Chechnya, that is while the 90 percent of the country’s population are Muslims who face limitations for building new mosques in Moscow.
Gadirov believes that followers of Islam and Christianity should respect each other and a peaceful coexistence should be created among them in Russia.
It should be noted that Moscow’s Municipality does not allow Muslims to build new mosques believing that the existing six mosques suffice Muslims to worship in the capital city.
